Networks: Executing the 100 Days Mission
Taking CEPI’s 100 Days Mission from a global health security vision to a pandemic-busting reality demands more than scientific breakthroughs. It also requires focused investment into a global operational backbone of health protection and outbreak response networks with the systemic agility and muscle to turn innovation into real-world impact.
CEPI has made a strong start – creating networks of laboratories, manufacturers, regulators and research partners across national and regional borders that have already become essential elements of the world’s health security infrastructure. The next step is to strengthen, test and connect these country-owned, regionally anchored and globally connected networks so they are ready to respond rapidly and seamlessly in an emergency.

Over the next five years, CEPI will focus on expanding, strengthening and stress-testing the systems and networks needed to make the 100 Days Mission a reality – building a global health security force that is primed and ready to counter the next pandemic threat.
We’ll pre-position and strengthen our global networks of labs, manufacturers, researchers and regulators so they are ready to act together and at pace. This will mean improving core skills and making coordination easier through shared standards at the same time as embedding these capabilities into regional health systems for use in both routine and emergency vaccine production.
To ensure these systems work under pressure, CEPI and its national and regional partners will stress test them through a series of rigorous drills and simulations, prioritising low- and middle-income settings. We will share what we learn openly and launch a 100 Days Mission Learning Network to standardise knowledge, best practice and innovations—fostering a globally supportive learning culture of epidemic and pandemic readiness.

This continuous test–learn–innovate loop will transform CEPI’s product, partnership and network investments into practical epidemic and pandemic readiness. So that when the next outbreak hits, the world won’t be caught unprepared. It will be ready, with a global health security system that is equipped to respond effectively within 100 days.
